Emailing is a big part of our daily lives for many of us. We mostly use emails to communicate with others on a business level, a personal level, or both.

If you're someone who sends a ton of emails regularly, you know how inconvenient it can be to type what feels like the same email over and over again.

Thankfully, there's a way to create email templates in Apple Mail, so you don't have to format the same kinds of emails from scratch each time you want to send them. We'll show you how.

Creating an Email Template

You can create email templates in Apple's Mail app to save and use whenever you need to send similar emails to multiple recipients. Here's how to create an email template in Apple Mail on an iPhone, iPad, or Mac.

On an iPhone or iPad

First, create a new mailbox to store your email template using the following steps.

  1. Open the Mail app, then go to Mailboxes.
  2. Tap Edit in the top-right corner, then tap New Mailbox in the bottom-right.
  3. Enter a name for the mailbox, tap Mailbox Location, and choose a location for the mailbox.
  4. Tap Save.

After creating a mailbox for your template, create and format your email to suit your needs, and email yourself the template.

Then, go to your inbox and long-press on the email. Select Move Message from the context menu, select the template mailbox you created, and the email will move there.

On a Mac

Save Time With Email Templates in Apple Mail

Creating email templates can make sending emails more efficient for you. Instead of typing roughly the same email requesting something, scheduling a meeting, or congratulating a coworker, you can create templates that only require a bit of tweaking before being sent.

It'll save you time and the hassle of formatting. And you can create as many templates as you need to in the Mail app this way and even group them in custom mailboxes.
